The bundles are aimed at developers requiring a blend of ultra-low power consumption and high quality image capture, and where size and weight are important, typically in mobile applications. The first bundle, priced at $40 (plus local taxes and shipping/handling charges) simply combines the ultra-low power Raspberry Pi Model A with the tiny, lightweight camera module. The second bundle comes supplied with a 4GB SD card with the operating system pre-installed, and can be purchased for $45. Raspberry Pi Model A is the lower profile version of the credit card-sized board, containing 256MB RAM, a single USB port, and no Ethernet connection. The camera module, which measures just 25mm x 20mm x 9mm and weighs a little over 3g, contains a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor capable of delivering 2592 x 1944 pixel still images, while supporting 1080p at 30fps, 720p at 60fps and 640x480p at 60 or 90fps video capture. RS Components www.rs-components.com 25.5” WUXGA large format display delivers 1980x1200 resolution IEE Inc.’s latest offering, a rugged, 25.5” WUXGA display, offers 1980x1200 of resolution with 10% more height than a standard full HD monitor. In one application, full HD content can run concurrently and unobstructed with 12 lines of “banner text” along the bottom of the screen. This display has been designed within IEE’s enhance lifecycle management program to ensure its availability for a minimum of seven years. The lightweight, machined aluminium unit is constructed for a variety of rugged applications, especially airborne consoles and mobile command stations. The front-facing, sealed OSD switches withstand harsh environmental elements, while providing full control of display parameters, including brightness, contrast up to 1500:1, size and a native luminance up to 350 cd/m2 (optionally up to 800cd/m2) The WUXGA resolution can also be configured to replicate multiple legacy 4:3 displays within screen partitions or tiles. The display accepts two DVI video inputs that the user can easily toggle between using panel keys. The unit operates in the -20 to +70°C temperature range and draws 45W. IEE Inc. www.ieeinc.com
