Free software tool provides circuit simulation and PCB layout Distributor Mouser is to release the MultiSIM BLUE software package, based on code by National Instruments; the NI Multisim Component Evaluator - Mouser Edition. In collaboration with NI, this Mouser version of the free tool will add features and functionality to provide engineers with an industry-standard SPICE simulation environment of electronic circuits using Mouser Electronics’ distributed components. This forthcoming release of Multi- SIM BLUE will include more than 100,000 electronic components with intuitive simulation features and SPICE analyses. Mouser Electronics www.mouser.com EBVchips get their own dedicated website EBV Elektronik has set up a dedicated website to offer its customers comprehensive online information on its unique EBVchips program under which the distributor defines custom semiconductor solutions developed with and for its customers. The chips are then manufactured by EBV’s supplier partners, fulfilling special requirements not covered by products already available. This makes EBV the first semiconductor specialist to offer such a service. The new site presents all the latest available products, shows an explanatory film about the EBVchips program and has a dedicated FAQ section. On top of that, the microsite contains the EBVchips Innovation Contest at www.ebv.com/innovation-contest. Here customers can participate in the definition of a new EBVchip, a device that could solve their application needs with a higher integration level and the right performance/price ratio. A total of seven new SparqEE boards are available to order exclusively from RS, including the CELLv1.0 – a tiny cellular development board that implements a 2G+3G chipset to provide wireless worldwide. This means that the CELLv1.0 module will use 3G primarily and only revert to 2G when 3G is not available. In addition, the CELLv1.0 measures only 36x42x7mm, making it the smallest cellular module currently available on the market. These small, thin and highly efficient magnetic induction-coil modules have been designed for use in wireless charging applications for portable electronic devices. These E&E coils are compliant with the Qi interface-standard specifications, which have been developed by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). The Qi standard enables inductive electrical power transfer over distances of up to 4 cm. Two transmitter and receiver coil modules are available offering 5W low-power transfer and the 15W medium-power extension to the WPC standard.
